About the Program:

Our school community's goal for the garden is to enrich students' education by:
- providing children opportunities to grow and eat fresh produce
- allowing students to participate in hands-on science and environmental lessons
- making connections to grade-level classroom curriculum
- developing a program which is lasting and sustainable

With these four goals in mind, we are in the process of completing the expansion of our school garden. We installed 16 brand new raised garden beds with irrigation, in ground fruit trees and vines, 5 tables with seating, a compost area, shade cloths and a storage shed. We are thrilled that the PTA has funded a garden teacher to teach all classes K-6 biweekly in the garden. Additionally, we have a brand new greenhouse awaiting hydroponics equipment. A professional hydroponic grower and school parent has partnered with us to ensure the success of our hydroponics program. This grant will allow us to purchase hydroponic equipment and supplies.
