The goal of the Teaching Garden is to shift the way students think about food. Through interactive programing and project-based learning students will increase their appreciation and understanding of agriculture, nutrition, and the food system. Teachers will utilize garden-themed lessons to teach 180 students nutrition, science and other subjects. The school Garden Club will teach students how to plant seeds, nurture growing plants, harvest produce and understand the value of good eating habits. The Garden Team will develop school-wide garden-based nutrition intervention programs to promote increased fruit and vegetable intake amongst all students.
