Sustainable Agriculture: Creation/expansion and planting of raised-bed organic vegetable garden and composting in the school courtyard. This courtyard is maintained by students, parents, and wider community and is used as an outdoor living classroom. It has various ecosystem and students connect their learning through various classes and after school Eco-Club. Students understand the importance of growing locally and eating healthy at school and at home through this hands on project. Students also engage in "Healthy Eating" educational presentation and cooking of food using vegetable garden produce (open to all students through Family and Consumer Sciences classes and after school Eco-Club). The produce is used by the school cafeteria. This will teach students about the environmental benefits of growing food locally and sustainably. Students put kitchen and garden waste for composting. Students are given healthy food after school when they stay for Eco-Club to work on the garden.
