Our Wellness Committee actively organizes neighborhood "fun walks" and partner with CanDo to encourage health and fitness at a community level.  The Recipe for Success Team partners with Revolution Foods to enhance parent outreach and nutrition education through Parent Nights and cooking demonstrations.

SHINE augments the RFS My Favorite Holiday Food Story Writing Contest with their Annual Holiday Food Festival, an event that brings together children and their families in celebration of their unique culture, traditions, and food. Each 2nd grade student creates a project around their traditional family holiday dish, designed a multimedia presentation, and prepared the dish to share.

The RFS S2P Instructors cooperate with the science team in each grade to offer lesson ideas and support through our program lessons and material. The Recipe Garden is a learning tool for the entire school. In 2nd grade, S2P lessons in the garden and kitchen correlate with the STEM Science curriculum to provide the students enhanced hands-on learning opportunities to apply their knowledge in a variety of learning environments.
