About the Program:

~~Kids Cooking for Life (KCL) is dedicated to empowering young people to enjoy the benefits, pleasures and skills of cooking healthy food; promoting longer, healthier and happier lives. It was developed to teach children how to cook and prepare healthy meals with the aim of preventing and reducing childhood obesity and equipping youth and their families to make mindful decisions about food. Since its inception, it has developed into a diverse non-profit that expands well beyond nutrition and food to include social skills, community building, and the farm to table movement as well as encouraging kids to hone new skills and mentor one another. Classes occur in a variety of settings from after-schools, community centers and farmer's markets with the hopes of reaching vulnerable youth that may otherwise lack access to healthy food and teachings.
