About the Program:
At KMS, we have a teaching kichen as well as a garden classroom. We encourage all teachers and students to work in the garden and use it as a form of enrichment for their regular classes. The pre-k class has the largest role in maintaing the garden with our two garden teachers. The teaching kitchen has a program that offers after school cooking classes to students at KMS and from other local schools. We use the herbs, vegetables, and flowers from our garden in cooking and for more artistic pieces. We compost, teach about waste managment, water use, starting plants from seeds, and how to cultivate, maintain, and harvest from a garden.
