Jefferson County Open School

Our garden will create meaningful relationships between students and food. It is important for kids to know where their food comes from who grows it and how to prepare it. The Garden will emphasize hands on experiences by engaging students in local food production and economies provide a living laboratory where interdisciplinary lessons are drawn from real life experiences develop greater community interaction and instill the joy of cooking and the pleasures of eating nutritious tasty food.
