About the Program: 

The Intergenerational Landed Learning Project unites the generations to cultivate habits of earth stewardship and healthy living.  Our programs:

•Promote environmental stewardship

•Celebrate healthy eating & lifestyles

•Facilitate intergenerational and cultural exchange

•Cultivate social development and lifelong learning

•Inspire experiential learning across disciplines

 

Our programs include:

Landed Learning on the Farm Throughout the school year intergenerational groups of one elder, one younger volunteer, and 3-5 elementary children to learn with and from nature. Groups meet regularly to plan and plant gardens, tend to organic crops, harvest and cook fresh produce, and enjoy healthy foods in community at the UBC Farm.

Sustainable Opportunities for Youth Leadership Secondary students build a foundation for healthy living and community engagement by growing, processing, and selling healthy foods in their schools and communities.
