About the Program:

Our Hope Grows Garden will provide an interdisciplinary, hands-on outdoor classroom that facilitates learning, promotes healthy habits and reinforces strong community partnerships. As our garden is established, funding requested will extend/enhance the program for broader impact through the purchase of additional garden supplies (e.g., plants and planting materials) and outdoor tables for creation of “classroom” space. Classroom area will be used by all grades and particularly through the integration of our new Hope Grows Garden Club, which will serve as an extension of classroom learning, allowing for implementation of more projects and activities, including: harvest parties, STEM projects, and arts integration. Additionally, the club will underscore our existing partnership with Barnabas Health Institute for Prevention through their Project T.A.L.K. initiative. Project T.A.L.K. will facilitate a plant sale and will coordinate for participation at garden-related events.
