Hillcrest Elementary

The goal of the Hillcrest Garden is to connect students with where their food comes from, inspiring positive changes in their eating habits that ultimately will support improvements in their overall health. We do this by creating a beautiful garden space directly outside of their classroom windows. The students interact with the garden in many ways, from passing the garden to-and-from classes, working in the garden during school, enjoying the produce in the cafeteria, and attending volunteer days with their parents on the weekends. This grant will enable us to promote all of those connections. The most significant focus of this funding will be connecting students to the garden through classroom education.
