About the Program:

The Henry Ford celebrates 300 years of American history and innovation at Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village, Ford Rouge Factory Tour, and Benson Ford Research Center.

Our mission is to provide unique educational experiences based on authentic objects, stories, and lives from America’s traditions of ingenuity, resourcefulness and innovation, to inspire people to help shape a better future. The Henry Ford has four historic farms: Daggett Farm (1760s Connecticut), Susquehanna Plantation (1860s Maryland), Firestone Farm (1880s Ohio), and Mattox Farm (1930s Georgia). We cultivate heirloom field crops, vegetable gardens, and orchards, and raise heritage cattle, sheep, poultry, swine, equine, and honeybees. Our guests discover America’s food traditions in our exhibits and experiences, educational programs, restaurants, and locally-sourced food products.

Henry Ford Academy, a charter high school with a diverse student body from Detroit/Wayne County, is part of The Henry Ford. With unique courses like Food and Agriculture at Firestone Farm, urban students are learning hands-on about historical farming, raising student gardens, and caring for animals.
