About the Program:
We would like to create an edible garden in our school's courtyard. The garden would be a collaboration between the school, our afterschool program (Boys & Girls Club), and volunteers from the community. The purpose of the garden has multiple layers, but the foundation is to provide another service to our local and greater community. Students will use this as a learning experience, using classroom based lessons in tandem with Boys & Girls Club curriculum based Positive Sprouts program. The plants we produce will be shared with our school community as well as our outside community including but not limited to, the families of the children we serve as well as the local food bank.
