Grace School
Grace Lower School is committed to providing our students with an enriching, hands-on learning environment. A school garden will give our students opportunities for first-hand experiences, observation and experimentation. The goal for our Grace Lower School garden is to empower our second graders with the knowledge and values to make food choices that are healthy for them, their community and the environment. We hope to develop in our students a sense of curiosity, the ability to work together as a team to complete a task, and a desire to share the fruits of their labor. The Grace Lower School garden will not only produce fruits and vegetables, it will bring academic subjects to life in the kitchen, garden, lunchroom and classroom. If awarded the Whole Kids Foundation School Garden Grant, the funds will allow us to create a sustainable, edible educational program for Grace School and the community.
