About the Program: 

Garfield Elementary aims to expand the school garden to be an outdoor library where students can explore different areas of the curriculum while learning about plants and gardening. By planting maintaining and harvesting various plants students will develop social skills such as cooperation persistence and problem-solving. Constructing raised beds will allow community partner volunteers to work with students to serve the school by tending the garden.
