About the Program:

Forty First grade and thirty ESE Pre-K students synergized as "Budding Buddies" to grow and harvest vegetables in raised garden beds. The nutrition garden called, "Synergy Soup and Salsa Garden," is one of three garden projects featured at Fred Wild Elementary. Forty fourth grade students planted a sensory/butterfly garden (gardening for balance). These gardens were added to an existing nature/fitness trail. The overall theme of our gardens is based on developing student leadership through gardening. We are a "Leader in Me" school and teach Covey's 7 Habits.

Our school received a generous grant from Bok Tower and the University of Florida I.F.A.S. Extension (Florida Gardens for Life).
