The 765 currently enrolled school children at Galileo STEM School will have an opportunity to participate in the school garden project. Parents, teachers and other family members will also have the opportunity to volunteer and participate with the school vegetable garden.

Children and parents will benefit from the hands on learning style that vegetable gardens provide. They will experience the positive impact of learning about healthy food choices as a result of growing vegetables. Children, parents and teachers will learn about self-reliance from growing food. All involved with the school vegetable garden project will learn new responsibilities for taking care of the garden through the production of food. A sense of compassion will be developed as a result of providing for others in need through the donation of food grown in the garden. Healthy and nutritious vegetables will be donated to recipients of the Eagle Food Bank, which includes the senior citizens at the Spring Creek Assisted Living facility.
