Friends' Central School

The goals of this project include having the children learn the value of cooperation and the need for involvement in community activities. We want them to recognize the value of stewardship of the land and the environment around them. We want them to become aware of the benefits of growing and eating organic food. A further goal is to integrate this gardening experience with the Lower School curriculum. Through this experience we would like them to know that our food comes from the earth, and plants and not a manufacturing plant. We want them to be mindful stewards of the environment in which we all live.
