Fort Collins High School

Our goal is to increase the vocational skills and broaden abilities for our students with disabilities. Our school has center based programs for students with severe autism, and severe emotional disabilities. Additionally, we provide academic programming for students with a variety of disabilities to include learning disabilities, communication disorders, and physical disabilities, and a diverse population and severity within those contexts. The goal of the grant is to facilitate an inclusion approach in order to bridge the typical developing peers with the students with disabilities with a fun, hands on approach, utilizing the greenhouse facility onsite. This grant will help fund the practical budgeting, purchases of materials, construction of materials, and skills needed to plant, grow and harvest edibles from an indoor garden.
