Food Day
Food Day is a nationwide celebration and a movement for healthy, affordable, and sustainable food. Food Day is every year on October 24, and seeks to inspire the public to work together to address today’s pressing food issues, such as obesity, access to healthy food, sustainability, and labor rights.
Food Day was created by the Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI), but it is powered by a diverse coalition of food movement leaders and organizations including the National Education Association, National PTA, National Farm to School Network, and Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution.
On October 24, 2013, Americans from all 50 states celebrated the second annual Food Day at more than 4,700 events nationwide.
Food Day 2014 will focus on food education in schools and food literacy for the broader public. Join the Food Day 2014 campaign for cutting edge tools, resources, and educational opportunities to help integrate food education into your school and increase food literacy within your community.
