About the Program: 

Mix’t Greens is a applied learning lab in Food and Customer Service and EARTH Gardening: Introduction to Growing Food Community College Employment Training Program (ETP).

Students who participate in ETP programing are adult learners, all with barriers to education and employment, some live with disabilities, mental health or addictions issues in their lives – all learners want to participate in hands on applied learning to develop their employment skills.

Our program values the uniqueness of all learners, ETP works from a strength based perspective to assist the learner in achieving small successes early to build confidence to keep trying new things, learn about themselves their colleagues and the environment.

Furthermore ETP’s andragogy values the lived experience learners bring to the teaching and learning environment. Included in this employment training program are elements of entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation. The holistic learning environment also focuses on stewardship, health and wellness, self-awareness, self-advocacy and peer education.
