About the Program:

The goal for our grant is to reach all learners. It will provide a hands on approach to Science, physical activity, social emotional growth, and opportunities to provide cognitive growth that connects them to nature while maximizing learning for all types of learners. Our hope is to provide opportunities for problem solving, critical thinking skills, decision making skills and the opportunity for collaboration. The garden will be available for all students, parents, staff and community members. We expect to see an enthusiasm for learning and progress in academic achievement. Elsa England Elementary is a diverse campus. We value that diversity in our school and want to provide valuable and engaging academic experiences. We are a school that encourage teamwork, leadership opportunities and serving others. Our team, feels that this garden will provide all of those opportunities and more. This grant would provide these experiences for our community. Students have researched native plants, native animals, soil, water conservation, and how to create a scale model of their garden. The growth will only progress from here as we plan to build and incorporate more students every year.
