About the Program:

We are a school garden that serves the entire school T-K to 5th grade every year. We primarily focus on standards-based science, environmental, and gardening education.

Currently, our Life Lab Garden outdoor classroom provides all students, Kindergarten, Lower Elementary, th grade, seven 45-minute science-based garden sessions per school year. Students complete science experiments and activities, learn about nutrition, and work in the garden beds. Food grown in the Life Lab Garden is used in garden classroom lessons, as well as contributing to the school cafeteria's salad bar. Currently, the raised beds in the garden are nearly ten years old and are beginning to fall apart. Receiving this grant support would allow us to purchase lumber, gopher wire, soil and compost needed to begin rebuilding our garden beds and ensure garden classroom programming can continue into the future.
