Crabapple Middle School

Our main goal is to educate ALL CMS students using the garden. We would like to increase the yield of our garden this year from 1400 pounds donated to 1750 pounds. Education for our customers is key, what are we growing, when, how can it be used, and what is the value of the vegetables provided.

We would use the grant for:

--equipment: tillers, tools, fence materials, lumber to make more beds/bigger garden, composter

-- better soil, more planting material to rotate crops more often

--a garden shed to keep tools,

--an outdoor covered information structure/bulletin board for education and communication purposes

--developing teaching training packets/lesson plans

--education materials (posters/flyers): to be given out to NFCC families in English and in Spanish.

--irrigation system to ensure proper and consistent watering
