About the Program:

Our Farm to School programs makes connections between our food system and our school system. We work directly with school districts to procure and promote locally grown foods. Our program is working to increase the use of local foods, encourage our children to make healthy eating choices, and support regional farmers.

We offer programs for kids both in the garden and in the classroom. At the Starker Arts Garden for Education, field trips for schools, summer camps and service learning programs give children hands-on opportunities to experience gardening and food growing. Our Farm to School program brings food and gardening into the classroom– connecting local food to classroom learning, cafeteria lunches, and beyond–and linking food & gardening to science, health and social studies curricula.
