About the Program:

The purpose of the garden is to provide students with an educational experience and options for healthier lifestyle choices. Because there are two schools in our building, Madison Carver Academy and Cornerstone Charter Health High School, it will provide both groups opportunities to learn as well as facilitate mentorship opportunities where they will be able to work together. Students will learn about nutrition, gardening, leadership, and project planning. The food will be used in the school cafeteria and within the community. We will be incorporating the garden maintenance and sustainability strategies into their objectives for our student-run Healthy Lifestyles Task Force, developing leadership, accountability, and project planning skills.
