Connecticut River Academy

At the Connecticut River Academy, we believe in "connecting learning to the real world." We are an environmentally themed magnet high school that aims to incorporate acknowledgement and understanding of our natural world. Having a garden on our property further promotes this theme by exposing our students to the resources that sustain them. The goal for our garden is to promote healthy lifestyles and stewardship of our environment. We will be moving to a new building in January which will also allow us an opportunity to relocate and expand our garden. The support of this grant would enable us to design and implement a new educational garden space as well as develop a more robust garden program. The new site will also have a green roof and green house that will enhance and build off the new garden and garden program. With this grant, our school garden could expand to reach more students and community members to instill an appreciation for our land, our food and our health.
