About the Program:
Our goal is to create a long-term, sustainable garden for CAHS to use for educational enrichment, the development of healthy eating habits and community connections, and as a catalyst for environmental awareness. As the school is located in an urban area, students have no green space for classroom activities, such as lab experiments, on the school property. Vegetables, herbs and fruit raised in the garden can be taken home to eat by CAHS students and members of the neighborhood who lack access to fresh produce. Finally, we hope that this garden will serve as a way to improve awareness of environmental issues and recycling at CAHS.
