About the Program:

Coahoma Ag High (Aggie) began a turnaround in 2014-15. With oversight from the Miss Dep of Edu (MDE), all students at CAHS are now part of new Ag programs. Ag pathways are part of a college prep diploma. The goal is to provide a relevant experience that prepares students for college and careers.

CAHS added food science and agribusiness programs this year with horticulture planned next year. The garden is a significant component of the renewed agricultural emphasis. The garden is the main experiential learning activity that connects ALL students, no matter the course. ALL students participate in an Ag course each year.

The garden is on campus. The fall garden is planted. In the spring a second plot approximately 80’ x 60’ will double the size of the current garden space.

This grant will provide support for a much needed irrigation system, a tool shed, a row covering hoop house, and tools for the students. Approximately 75 students are directly involved with the garden.
