Centreville Elementary School

Centreville Elementary School (CES) would like to expand its outdoor learning program to include a vegetable garden aligned with the Virginia history Standards of Learning. We would also like to build a greenhouse using recycled water bottles. The greenhouse will allow us to build upon our already existing recycling efforts turning into an even more meaningful project. It will also provide us the opportunity to harvest seeds from our existing plants in the fall to grow seedlings for planting in the spring, thereby providing hands-on experience for the children with the full plant lifecycle. The greenhouse and vegetable garden will also enable us to teach students about sustainable and healthy foods.
