Calvert Elementary

The goals of our community youth garden will be to impact 150 + youth, many of which have limited resources to healthy produce, with gardening skills, nutritional education and a general sense for the importance of supporting your local farmer. We will measure this success by utilizing the "Organ Wise Guys" curriculum, along with health and fitness testing. Students will be able to plan and organize local community night to showcase the produce they have grown, along with the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. This grant will allow the community to interact with one another while creating sustainability practices within the school and rec center.
