Beverly Cleary School
The goal of the gardens at Beverly Cleary School is to connect students to nature, support the learning environment of the garden, and build community. As a community we have worked hard to establish our school gardens and involve students throughout many years. As we are having success with this we need to create more spaces in the garden to accommodate all of those who are interested. This grant will allow us to refurbish/protect our resources (refresh soil and protect raised beds), add space to garden (via planters), and extend the growing season and add learning opportunities with a recycled greenhouse project. (An example of a recycled greenhouse can be found here: www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/gardening-blog/2009/apr/02/plastic-bottl...).
