About the Program: 

The goal of our Outdoor Classroom is to educate and inform our students and community about establishing a healthy urban environment to grow and produce fresh ,locally grown vegetables and plants. Students, and parents will be exposed to the methods needed to grow a healthy garden. Rain Harvesting will be initiated to assist in the proper watering and irrigation of the Outdoor Classroom. The development of a Community Garden will help establish a positive relationship with our community. Students will have access to fresh vegetables in the fall that will provide a healthy food choice. Produce will be used in our snack program in the fall as well as a school wide Garden Party to introduce our students to healthy eating choices. We will use a hydroponics and aquaponics program to assist with the growing of vegetables during our winter months. These vegetables will be used in our school snack program. Parents and community partners are critical to our long determine sustainability.
