About the Program:

The John H. Boner Community Center and Chase Near Eastside Legacy Center inspires neighbors and partners to improve the quality of life on the Near Eastside by providing tools for change and growth. Ultimately, we hope the garden and the learning opportunities made available through it's existence help play a small part in achieving this mission.

More specifically, the community garden at The Chase Near Eastside Legacy Center serves as a teaching tool for high school, middle school and elementary school students as well as Indianapolis' Near Eastside community. In addition to teaching about complex topics such as sustainability and conservation, food systems and community awareness; the garden also provides opportunities for learning opportunities in the areas of youth entrepreneurship, biology and leadership development. We envision the our community garden as not just a space for Arsenal Technical High School students, but a space where the entire community can lean and belong.

This program is supported by John H. Boner Community Center.
