About the Program:

For two years we've had the opportunity to have local chefs harvest a small portion of food from our multiple gardens and share their famous recipes. Not only do the visiting chefs volunteer their time, they also supplement their recipes with food they donate. Additional supplies needed such as cooking utensils, basic pantry items, additional food, drinks and paper products were all donated by a private citizen.

The Chef in the Garden’s mission is to teach students simple recipes for making healthy foods using fresh produce and heritage grains. It is the intent for students to share the recipes at home and changing the way the community eats, one recipe at a time.

Unfortunately, we no longer have the privilege of having one person fund this program and must rely on the school community for support. Our parents have been supportive in providing some paper products, but without support from the larger community, this incredible program will no longer be possible.
