About the Program:

The Anderson Valley Jr/Sr High School Garden provides an excellent opportunity for students and faculty to participate in agriculture and healthy school environments. The garden is nestled within a 7 acre active school farm which produces eggs and livestock for the surrounding community of Boonville, California. The garden site which has been re-developed largely from volunteer labor and coordination by Charlene Rowland has the potential to produce large amounts of healthy, organic local vegetables for the Anderson Valley Unified School Districts' Food Services Department which is responsible for feeding over 400 students across the region daily.

It is the goal of this project to increase the amount of fresh, local, school grown food for use within the entire school district.
