About the Program:

Our program is a raw juice cooperative that only vends at farmers markets, local events and deliveries. Our raw juice cooperative is a non-profit fundraising vehicle to raise money and sustain our after school program aimed to open in Bayview-Hunter's Point district, San Francisco. Our tentative garden space is in the Bayview District and is currently in the administrative processing stage. Delegation of the area is to be used for our edible and educational garden. Our program will be hosted by a Family Childcare Licensed Home in the Bayview District in close proximity to our garden.

Our pulp in the meantime is donated to The Free Farm Stand in Parque Unidos- Mission District, as well as Leonard Flynn Elementary & Cesar Chavez Elementary Schools' garden projects and educational programs.

Our garden space will also double as a hub for Say Hay Farms, Woodland, Ca. Through our collaboration with local farms such as Say Hay Farms, we are able to keep our organic prices down to support our raw juice cooperative demands. Our connections with these farms not only support our raw juice cooperative, but also supports our curriculum with farmers as mentors. These farmers are practicing sustainable and ethical farming practices that are valuable to our program.

Our after school program will be free for  local low-income families. Free organic meals included. We strongly feel that the community support we are receiving for our program is a dependable outlet for redistributing local funds to low income neighborhoods.

We also do community outreach programs such as free Sensory & Social Development Workshops at our Farmers Market. Our workshops are Transplanting & Pulp-Art. All of our plants have been donated by Flora Grubbs Nursery (also in the Bayview District). Our organic soil from Flower Craft. Reciprocal community support has guided our program and continue to do so.

Dirt To Dish is in it's 10 month of operation. At our 2 year mark we hope to open our After School doors. With the SFPDH garden allocation, this may make our goal appear sooner than later. Our next goal is to Rent a sizeable house in Bayview in proximity to our Garden (Bayview- Eastside). At the current time we are renting a commercial kitchen in Hunters Point. The production time in this kitchen is timely and usurps most our income from our Raw Juice Cooperative. Upon signing the lease in our new FCCH-home we will then convert the kitchen into commercial space (education culinary-gardening learning based), relieving the production space rented at the commercial kitchen. This is our next goal within our program. We are currently grant-writing and seeking seed money.

Thank you for reading about our program and supporting our grassroots efforts.
