Valley of the Sun JCC Early Childhood Center
The Early Childhood Center at the Valley of the Sun JCC strives to nurture each child's natural curiosity, intelligence and enjoyment as well as develop their Jewish identity. Warmth and affection are a constant companion throughout the day, as are stimulating learning experiences. We foster a spirit of togetherness and socialization influenced and inspired by our Jewish heritage and traditions. We pay keen attention to every child's needs and preferences.
The JCC ECC provides a high quality, warm, nurturing environment where children are immersed in a developmentally academic, play-based learning theory. We understand the importance of teaching Jewish ethics and values and weave Jewish traditions into our everyday curriculum. Every child is celebrated for being unique and special. We are a family of educators that care deeply for the health and well being of the whole child. Teachers and parents work together to help every child grow socially, emotionally and physically in a loving and safe atmosphere. We are licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services.
The ECC is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The ECC has voluntarily undergone a comprehensive process of internal self-study, invited external professional review to verify compliance with the Criteria for High Quality Early Childhood Programs. Through these processes, we can ensure that our program, our staff and our children are receiving the highest of quality care. The ECC works with NAEYC to provide our staff with the most cutting edge continuing education training and classes.
In addition to early childhood education, we collaborate with the Scottsdale Parenting Group to offer parenting classes for families with children, infants through high school. This enables parents to learn, share and connect on topics taught by trusted expert instructors. The classes promote how to have effective relationships with children.
The Early Childhood Center offers a cohort program with Paradise Valley Community College that is unique to our center. It provides directors and teachers with the appropriate tools and knowledge to become pedagogical leaders and innovative teachers. Teachers are able to participate in this program to further their education.
The Valley of the Sun JCC is open to the public regardless of religious preference or affiliation. Children must be 6 weeks of age through 5 years old to participate and a member of the JCC.
