John R. Tibbott School
John R. Tibbott School Sustainable Edible Garden is a collaboration between the school, Whole Foods Kids Foundation, and USGBC-Illinois Emerging Professionals (Wight & Co.) We are looking forward to our first planting season this Spring. Our garden contains six raised beds, two ADA planting arches, and seven rain barrels. Some of our gardens will be a Salsa Garden, Underground Garden, and Soup Garden. In addition to the garden plots, we have four fruit trees planted in areas that will also house butterfly friendly plants. Our fifth graders are also vermicomposting in order to provide nourishment to our plants.
