Garden Leader: Lindsay McNicholas – lindsay_mcnicholas@dpsk12.org
Our garden is located in the northeast corner of our playground. We have 4 large raised beds and 5 in-ground beds. We grow vegetables, flowers, herbs, etc. We have seating space for 12-15 students. We use the garden for science lessons, gardening classes, Youth Farmers Markets and community donations. About 60 students in 1st and 3rd grade enjoy the garden.
This summer we need volunteers to help with watering and maintenance as our garden leader will be out of the country. We will have some support from families and staff in the school, but it would be helpful to have some support from Slow Food and/or other community members to water the garden. We really need an irrigation system.
We have received help and donations from Whole Foods, Noodles & Co., and Living Landscapes. Thank you to these groups for their assistance.
