Byron Bethany Irrigation District (BBID) at the mouth of the intake channel to the California Aquaduct and San Luis Delta Mendota Water Authority. BBID has purchased land up to 115 acres in which BBID has started with 10 acres to implement

Our mission is to teach the youth of today about the industry of agriculture. We hope to do so by establishing an afterschool program for the schools in the Byron-Bethany area, that gives kids a hands on learning atmosphere. We plan to have each child seed, plant, fertilize, irrigate, maintain, and harvest their very own crops so that they gain a better appreciation of how their food is made and distributed. Each child will also be given the chance to sell their crop at a local student run farmstand in which the profits will be put back into the education system to further advance their education.
