Montessori Children's House

Montessori Children’s House provides quality Montessori education that strives to be inclusive and supportive of all children and their families and creates a community in which children grow and reach their full potential.

MCH is a preschool for children ages 2½ to 6 years located in Northfield, Minnesota. Megan Ray Durkin, who holds American Montessori Society certification with thirty years experience, is the director of the school. 

Our classrooms are filled with stimulating educational materials that engage and attract the attention and curiosity of the children.Our large backyard playground is shaded, fenced, and offers a natural play area. Our two-acre property includes a large vegetable garden, pumpkin patch, chicken coop and woodland area.

The cooking program at MCH uses the edible schoolyard model from garden to snack table.
