About the Program:

The project Strengthening School Feeding Programs in the LAC Countries was created, aimed at strengthening the school feeding programs (SFP) in the region, through the implementation of sustainable SFP. Among the activities carried out, the Project promotes the implementation of Sustainable Schools pilots based on actions such as the involvement of the educational community; the adoption of healthy and adequate school meals; the implementation of educational school gardens; improvements made to kitchens, dining halls and storage rooms; and the direct purchase of local family farming products for school feeding. The FNE component is key in the process and the methodology used seeks to strengthen this component using school gardens as an education tool to deepen the understanding of food and nutrition as a comprehensive topic that connects health, education, environment, agriculture, food and nutrition security. Each country and school will get the support from our team, but they are free to adapt the methodology to best suit their reality and needs. The Project works with public schools. The project Strengthening School Feeding Programs in the LAC Countries was created, aimed at strengthening the school feeding programs (SFP) in the region, through the implementation of sustainable SFP.
