About the Program:

Neskowin Valley School serves a diverse population of students.  We are located on the Oregon Coast and currently amidst a transition garden. our outdoor classroom(Garden). We are amongst a community of fishermen, loggers, and farmers. Our school prides itself on interdisciplinary placed-based curriculum.  We have 5 acres of land, two streams, an interpretive trail, and a garden amidst remodeling. Nature is at the center of our school.  We currently have a Gardens and Grounds class which lasts for 1.5 hours/week where all students are exposed to our natural campus.

We've been wanting to overhaul our garden for a while, but are unable to do so based upon land-use restrictions from a non-profit who was using it as a nursery for habitat restoration.  The non-profit has moved to a new site and we're now able to use the land freely and thus expand our garden.  We see this as being a long-term integral epicenter for our school.
