Sutherland Secondary School

The Edible Garden Project is partnering with the North Vancouver School District to develop an innovative outdoor classroom and revitalize under-used school land. Our goal is to transform one-third of an acre of lawn into a "schoolyard market garden". The garden will be managed by the North Shore Neighbourhood House's Edible Garden Project, sell produce grown to sustain operations, invite classes to participate in the garden and learn outdoors, and engage the community with events and volunteer opportunities. This grant will make it possible to build the outdoor classroom, which will provide facilities for any teacher in the school to use the Schoolyard Market Garden for teaching.
