Don Roberts Elementary

Our goal is to expose every child to the joy of gardening while instilling an appreciation and understanding of the benefits of growing clean and nutritious foods. In addition, students will learn valuable economic skills through the implementation of a West Little Rock Farmer's Market that will help support and sustain the life of the garden. For the importance of growing healthy,students will use various food items from our garden for education and provide cooking classes in the evenings in order to teach other students how to cook healthy meals. Most importantly, the garden will serve as an important community service opportunity as students experience the value of giving back by donating a portion of our resources to local homeless shelters.
