Swainsboro Primary School
We have had our gardens for many years however funding has run out for addition seeds, tools, soil, plants and other consumables that we need to continue our outdoor education. Our school has doubled in the past year. With that increase funding is more crucial than ever so that we may continue our gardening. Although we live in a rural area, many of our students have no idea where their food actually comes from. Our goal is to teach where the food comes from, how it is grown and how they can grow at home with their families. We also want to emphasize the importance of fresh produce and vegetables. Along with exercise and fresh air outdoor gardens are extremely vital for the health and well-being of all of the community. Learning these lessons at an early age can last a lifetime.
