Eastway Elementary

Our goals are:
1. To have an edible garden that will serve as an outdoor classroom with a Standards based curriculum and Common Core objectives for our students exposing them to garden fresh home grown food that has higher nutritional value. To learn about the cycle of plant growth in a natural setting, make connections to energy levels and good nutrition. This grant will also allow us to create an aesthetically pleasing environment and allow students to observe the seasonal changes in the garden as well as interact with nature, and build closer relationships with the community by extending invitations to them to become a part of the garden by volunteering, doing teaching demonstrations and by assisting with the ongoing mantainance of the space.
