About the Program:

The Next Frontier Academy is planning to open up a hydroponics growing room in our school. We are an agricultural non-profit charter school that strives to provide agricultural work opportunities for our students.

We have a received donations from a partnering organization, including much of our needed hydroponic supplies for our growing room.

The room will give our students a hands-on project that they can invest in and turn into a revenue making business. The students will grow a variety of plants and vegetables throughout the winter in the room using hydroponics and aquaponics. In the spring of 2015, the students will sell produce through their farmer's market, creating by our student-run business, FRONTIER.

This project will train our students to value sustainable agriculture and organic food. They will learn the needed skills to operate their own greenhouse.
