About the Program: 

>Provide education programs for more classes in elementary school in coordination with Cornell Cooporative Ext, focusing on grades 1-4 with programs led by specialized garden educators, with agricultural programs aligned with NYS learning standards. Garden educators will also help teach teachers how to use garden
>expand story hour/garden exploration program begun this past summer with Diver Library to reach preschool children & students during summer vacation
> provide training for teachers on how to use the garden to connect to their current curriculum
>To bring water source directly to garden (currently use hoses from bus garage adjacent to garden)
>To build storage shed at garden which will also be future garden market site (currently store tools in bus garage adjacent to garden)
>Provide greater variety of produce to cafeteria to enhance menu & for classroom taste-testing, cooking demos
>to purchase season-extending materials (row covers. cold frame, etc) to provide gardening for greater part of school year due to our short growing season
>Establish program for Farm to School month with the school garden, local farms & agencies such a CCE & Farm Bureau
