About the Program:

The goal for our garden is to engage and educate all 940 students at Windsor Secondary about where their foods comes from and most importantly, creating a sustainable food system.
Much of the Growing and Harvesting will be done by students in Foods&Nutrition Classes and used to create healthy meals.
A unique goal that we aim to accomplish is the involvement of students of the Choices program of the school (students with social/emotional challenges). As they learn to grow, care for, and harvest food, they can experience a great reduction of anxiety, sense of belonging to the school or a sense of self-accomplishment.
Further, the garden will be a living laboratory to support teaching and engage students in learning across curricula, including math, science, Biology, Social Studies.
